Matt Goedken was born in Bettendorf IA, growing up along the banks of the Mississippi river, not too far from Chicago and that city’s great blues tradition. Matt got his first guitar at the age of ten, and from then on, his musical path was set. Influenced at an early age by the likes of The Beatles, Steppenwolf, Hendrix, Black Sabbath, and many other 50’s, 60’s & 70’s bands as well as a who’s who list of blues artists, his rock n roll pedigree was well established from the start. Having played many styles, from rock, to new wave, to rockabilly, to the blues, to country, and rock again, he has incorporated all of those styles, and more, into what he terms “a do what the song calls for” style of playing and writing. After eight years of not playing any guitar due to a neuromuscular condition, matt is understandably ecstatic to be back in the saddle again, making music and working with his great friend Doug Forshey and the rest of the Dudes Terrific.
Doug Forshey hails from Huntington County, Pennsylvania where he grew up listening to a wide variety of music from Pink Floyd, AC/DC and Tom Petty, to Roger Miller and Merle Haggard. At age 15, he started rocking and hasn’t looked back. Doug maintains that it was when he first heard “Highway to Hell” was when he knew he wanted to play guitar in a rock and roll band. In 1995, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a songwriting career, eventually signing as a staff writer at Best Built Songs. Since then Doug has spent his time honing his craft and writing with many of Nashville’s top writers. In late 2007 Doug decided to return to his rock roots and partnered with his long-time friend Matt Goedken to form The Dudes Terrific. Together they have crafted what Doug feels is his greatest overall work as a songwriter. He couldn’t be more proud of The Dudes’ debut album, “Born Yesterday” and is looking forward to many more years of rocking with his new favorite band!
Michael Jeffers started playing bass at age 13, growing up in a musical family in Kingsport TN. He moved to Nashville after high School and then attended Middle Tennessee State University. Michael was a founding member of the country band Pinmonkey along with his brother Chad. Over the course of the last six years, Pinmonkey has released three critically acclaimed records garnering rave reviews and a diehard fan base. Also during his years in Nashville, Michael has played with many artists, including Chris Knight, Radney Foster, Bomshel, Ashley Monroe, The Leavin’ Bros. Band and Nathan Spears to name a few. Currently he is holding down the bottom with The Dudes Terrific as well as Country Artist Joe Nichols. If you crossed a hippy with a Boy Scout and raised him in East TN on a steady diet of KISS, classic Country, Bluegrass and old School R&B, Michael Jeffers would be what you get.
Ruben Garces hails from the sunshine state of Florida where at an early age he answered the call to rock and roll. He started playing drums at the age of ten and has known no other vocation since.
